Deception

A feint glimmer shines in the midst of a breathless night.
With alluring beauty and promises of an endless flight.
Deep instinct warnings wither in vain.
For hope and desire seemingly defeat the pain.
But such perfections only exist in dreams.
And the truth gradually shatters with astounding beams.
If one doesn't wake up before the consumption is complete.
Their existence, hopes, and dreams fade away as obsolete.
